![]() ![]() “Mother Bear” works better. Alright, to be fair, Brave isn’t only about bears and mother-daughter relationships- it’s also about well, bravery- the courage to seek freedom, confront your destiny, and take fate into your own hands. To be honest, I have no idea why the name of this movie is “Brave”. On a side note, what is up with Disney and bears? Remember “Brother Bear”? That guy turns into a bear, too. I should totally feed my brother some of those cake.Ħ) Love your mom, because you never know when she’s going to turn into a big hairy bear.ħ) Love your mom even if she is a big hairy bear. Just look at this. I mean sure, the triplets were cute in human form, but as bears? Jeez. If it’s free, it’s probably spiked.Ĥ) Never tear a tapestry if you don’t know how to sew.ĥ) Little brothers are better off as bear cubs. I mean, better safe than sorry!ģ) There’s no such thing as a free slice of cake. I learned lots of life lessons from Brave.ġ) Never trust a woodcarver- he/she is most likely an evil witch.Ģ) Never eat cake. ![]() (I guess there isn’t a seven-day return and refund policy.) They have some mother-daughter bonding time while running from a bunch of axe-wielding men determined to prove their manliness. The cake… wait for it… turns her mother into a bear. The witch gives her a cake that will apparently ‘change her fate’ if she feeds it to her mother. Princess Merida gets annoyed and turns to a witch (disguised as a woodcarver) for help. ![]() She wants her daughter to grow into a demure, elegant Queen (like her). Plot summary: Princess Merida likes “letting her hair flow in the wind as she rides through the glen firing arrows into the sunset”, but her mother, Queen Elinor, doesn’t approve. It’s an ode to mothers that will leave you feeling warm and fuzzy inside (and wishing you had little triplet brothers who turned into bears for a day). ![]() The Hunger Games is a haunting, disturbing take on humanity, while Brave is a typical Disney feel-good movie with great visuals and insanely cute characters. Well yes, they both feature spunky redheads who run about shooting arrows, but really- Brave is almost nothing like the Hunger Games. You might think this is some kind of Hunger Games rip off but it isn’t. ![]()
